A program on Jefferson’s broom factories, which operated from the late 19th century into the mid-20th century, will take place Saturday, April 1, at 2 pm at the historical museum, 218 E. Lincoln Way in Jefferson.
The program was originally set for Sunday, March 26, but was postponed because of inclement weather.
Museum program director Margaret Hamilton will tell the story of the broom factories’ glory days when up to 500 dozen brooms were produced annually.
Modern-day broom maker Shannon Bardole-Foley, daughter of Dick Bardole of Rippey, will demonstrate her craft.
The program is free and open to the public.
